At NTU, your journey begins with mastering laboratory fundamentals - acquiring all the methodologies, analytical procedures, and practical applications that prospective employers value. We'll then simulate professional environments tailored to your specific interests within microbiology, be it biomedical investigation, biotechnological applications, food security, or infectious disease analysis. Across all specializations, you'll develop expertise in interpreting and presenting scientific findings.
Under the guidance of globally recognized specialists, you'll study microorganisms linked to worldwide health challenges including HIV, tuberculosis, and influenza, with special emphasis on clinically significant pathogens.
Our curriculum also demonstrates how microbes shape our ecosystem and how microbiological expertise can address pressing global issues like environmental shifts, contamination, and antimicrobial resistance. Through collaborative projects and dedicated modules in Practical Biological Techniques and Professional Microbiology Skills, you'll progress to designing and executing your own experiments.
