The initial year of this program deviates from conventional PhD structures. As a participant, you'll undertake multiple laboratory rotations and structured coursework during this phase. This intentionally varied introductory year aims to expose you to diverse research methodologies, assisting in identifying your specialization focus for the subsequent three-year PhD period. Successful completion of this foundational year grants you an MRes in Cardiovascular Sciences. The initiative unites leading University researchers with global recognition in molecular, cellular, and physiological studies of cardiovascular systems in both healthy and pathological states, with direct clinical applications. Our objective is to foster innovative, cross-disciplinary methodologies addressing fundamental research inquiries that advance cardiovascular science. We particularly welcome applicants from diverse academic disciplines. Research opportunities span numerous fields including physiological function studies, cellular communication pathways, human genetics, disease modeling, computational biology, biomedical engineering, predictive modeling, innovative therapeutic delivery systems, comprehensive molecular profiling, structural biology mechanisms, tissue regeneration therapies, and advanced imaging techniques.
