Preserving biodiversity and preventing species extinction are critical worldwide priorities. Scientists now face unprecedented urgency in comprehending organisms, ecosystems, their evolutionary paths, interconnections, and responses to environmental threats. The fields of Evolution and Ecology investigate nature across all scales - from single organisms to entire ecosystems. This discipline allows researchers to analyze interactions between lifeforms and their habitats, while assessing human impacts on these relationships. Such studies enhance our understanding of Earth's ecosystems and their adaptation to environmental shifts. Our MPhil/PhD program equips students with advanced research capabilities through focused investigation of specialized topics in this field. Participants can enhance their expertise through the University's comprehensive training programs in essential research methodologies. With mentorship from PhD advisors, candidates will present their findings through university seminars and global academic conferences. Students will also refine their ability to draft progress reports, prepare scholarly publications, and effectively articulate their research findings. In addition to mastering discipline-specific techniques (such as molecular lab procedures or animal behavior studies), pursuing a research degree cultivates valuable transferable competencies including analytical thinking, project management, collaborative skills, and effective communication.
