Gaining insight into the mindsets and actions that shape our culture and influence the spaces where we live and work can empower us to diminish the widespread inequalities found in global societies. The Eleanor Glanville Centre focuses on critically examining equality, diversity, and inclusion challenges while pioneering innovative concepts beyond traditional academic limits. Students who join our research groups will participate in groundbreaking studies with tangible real-world effects, supporting our mission to transform culture and foster inclusive excellence. At the Eleanor Glanville Centre, doctoral candidates collaborate with internationally acclaimed scholars. Among our researchers is Professor Belinda Colston, specializing in creating and assessing novel approaches for inclusive research settings and their broader sector-wide influence, alongside Professor Abigail Powell, an authority in Sociology and Social Policy. Professor Powell's work explores gender roles in domestic and professional spheres, particularly in male-dominated fields, youth research, financial stability, and sophisticated impact assessment methods. Students will thrive in an encouraging academic environment that promotes knowledge exchange to enhance sector-wide strategies, policies, and practices.
