Kent's Sociology research spans diverse fields such as social and critical theory, social movements, globalization and daily life, urban spaces, media and technology, social stratification, gender studies, employment, visual sociology, welfare systems, risk society, violence studies, NGOs, and the sociology of the body.

With a prestigious legacy, our School ranks among Europe's most prominent social science research hubs. The 2021 Research Excellence Framework (REF) rated 100% of our Social Work and Social Policy research as world-leading or internationally outstanding for impact and research environment.
