Biomolecular engineering bridges molecular biology, protein engineering, and chemical biology. Research within the School of Molecular and Cellular Biology focuses on transforming fundamental biological and biochemical insights into practical technologies, therapeutic solutions, diagnostic methods, and medical advancements that improve human welfare. Current projects encompass creating versatile Affimer-based molecular instruments, engineering targeted cancer treatments, identifying industrial-grade enzymatic catalysts, and developing novel antimicrobial compounds through discovery and modification processes.
