Neuroscience covers an extensive spectrum of studies, spanning molecular investigations to clinical applications, including aptamer research and sports-related concussion studies. We aim to achieve global recognition in three key domains: neuro-oncology, dementia and neurodegeneration, along with molecular psychiatry. Our team includes diverse experts from biomedical researchers to pharmaceutical specialists and clinical practitioners. We maintain strong partnerships with Brain Tumour North West and are frequently invited to speak at international conferences and academic institutions. As part of the Faculty of Clinical and Biomedical Sciences, our neuroscience research bridges fundamental molecular work (such as aptamer studies) with clinical applications (like sports concussion research). Our ambition is to establish international prominence in three focus areas: neuro-oncology, dementia/neurodegeneration, and molecular psychiatry. Adopting a comprehensive bench-to-bedside methodology, we leverage our distinctive team composition that includes biomedical researchers, pharmaceutical experts, and clinical professionals from our Medical and Dental Schools. We prioritize collaborations with regional charities and healthcare facilities, notably through Brain Tumour North West—a collaborative initiative uniting researchers and clinicians across the region with support from local charitable organizations.
