Our MBBS Medicine with a foundation year is a six-year program designed to prepare you for a career as a skilled and caring physician. The foundation year serves as the initial academic phase, delivered at our National Centre for Remote and Rural Medicine in Whitehaven, Cumbria. This preparatory year covers essential biomedical sciences, mathematics, and scientific communication skills, which you'll later apply to understanding both healthy bodily functions and disease processes. Upon successful completion, you'll advance directly to our five-year MBBS Medicine program at our Preston campus. Our goal is to train doctors who meet the UK's highest standards, equipped to practice medicine safely and effectively worldwide. Graduates of the MBBS program have various career paths available. The degree fulfills core requirements for Junior Doctor positions and qualifies you to apply for provisional registration with the General Medical Council. UK graduates may apply for the competitive UK Foundation Programme, though this requires valid UK work authorization and involves rigorous selection alongside other graduates.
