Pursue your medical education at our Chelmsford School of Medicine, gaining practical patient care experience across hospitals, GP practices, and community environments through this five-year program. As an ARU medical student, you'll access our state-of-the-art skills labs and specialized Anatomy Centre. Our faculty comprises seasoned professionals—consultants, surgeons, nurses, and GPs—complemented by visiting clinicians from NHS Trusts.
Your learning extends beyond campus. Clinical placements begin early and continue throughout your studies, exposing you to both primary and acute care settings, along with specialized medical facilities.
The demand for skilled medical practitioners is real, and as a physician, you'll be equipped to forge a promising career while serving patients. UK medical licensure requires a GMC-accredited degree. While institutions award varying titles (MBBCh, MBChB, MBChirB, MBBS, etc.), all qualify you for foundation training and subsequent specialization. ARU's GMC-recognized program grants an MBChB degree.
Our contemporary curriculum blends clinical sciences with hands-on practice, leadership development, healthcare innovation, and technological applications from your first year. Clinical rotations span primary care, mental health, multiple acute care providers, and Essex-based specialty units like St Andrew's Centre for Plastic Surgery and Burns and the Essex Cardiothoracic Centre. Campus instruction occurs in our advanced medical school facility, featuring modern labs and cadaveric anatomy resources.
