Applied philosophy focuses particularly on ethics, educational theory, visual technologies, and healthcare. We embrace multiple philosophical traditions and varied methodological approaches.
Our PhD program is designed for exceptional students seeking to conduct in-depth philosophical research and develop careers as academic philosophers. Candidates create an 80,000-word maximum dissertation that serves as a foundation for scholarly publications.

For entry onto the PhD programme in Philosophy, you should normally have or expect to obtain a Master's degree at merit or 60% and above (or international equivalent) in philosophy, although applications with different disciplinary backgrounds (including the sciences) will be considered on their individual merits.
