This distinctive two-year program offers an interdisciplinary exploration of how children interact with texts and media, combined with the chance to study and reside in multiple European countries. Students can immerse themselves in various cultural activities centered around children's literature and media, while also completing an internship with a professional organization.
This innovative curriculum leverages the expertise of consortium members to deliver a joint degree focused on children's literature, media, and culture. The University of Glasgow leads this collaborative initiative, partnering with Aarhus University, Tilburg University, and the University of Wroclaw. Instead of examining literary, media, or educational components in isolation, the program investigates their interconnectedness within an adaptable structure that accommodates evolving formats (such as digital reading technologies) and creative educational approaches. The coursework covers diverse genres and emerging trends in children's content creation, including digital media and multimodal formats. Participants gain theoretical knowledge in children's literature and media studies while pursuing customized practical placements. A welcoming team of internationally renowned scholars from arts, humanities, and social sciences provides guidance throughout the program. Students benefit from access to top-tier libraries, academic resources, research facilities, museums, and cultural institutions.
