This joint honors program offers flexibility, allowing you to explore two complementary European languages within their worldwide cultural frameworks.
While focusing on Italy and Spain, the curriculum also opens doors to the rich histories and literary traditions of Latin America and the Caribbean.
No prior experience with Italian or Spanish is required. Through immersive language training, including a year overseas, you'll develop advanced proficiency in both languages.
You'll gain the ability to recognize diverse dialects and styles of Spanish and Italian, with the option to expand your language skills by studying Portuguese or Catalan.
Alongside language instruction, you'll engage with a remarkable variety of global literature, cinema, visual arts, and theater, all examined through their historical backgrounds.

Standard entry requirement
The standard entry requirement is:
SQA Highers: AAAA-AABB by end of S5 or AAAA-AAAB by end of S6. BBB must be achieved in one year of S4-S6.
A Levels: AAA - ABB.
IB: 37 points with 666 at HL - 34 points with 655 at HL.
Minimum entry requirement
The minimum entry requirement for widening access applicants is:
SQA Highers: ABBB by end of S6. BBB must be achieved in one year of S4-S6.
A Levels: ABB.
IB: 34 points with 655 at HL.
IELTS Academic module overall 6.5 with 5.5 in each component.
TOEFL-iBT (including Special Home Edition) 92 or above with 20 in each section. We do not accept TOEFL MyBest Score to meet our English language requirements.
