This primary teacher training program is tailored for graduates dedicated to pursuing a career in primary education. It prepares you to instruct children aged five to eleven years old. You may also qualify for generous tax-free training bursaries.
During your training, you'll master teaching the full primary curriculum while specializing in a chosen area. The Primary PGCE with The Arts specialization equips you with advanced skills and confidence to potentially lead in art and design, design technology, and music education.
East London provides diverse, dynamic school environments for your training, though your UEL qualification will enable you to teach throughout England and Wales.
You'll develop into a fully capable primary classroom teacher. Upon completion, you'll be skilled at delivering the entire curriculum to a full class of 30 students with confidence. The program ensures comprehensive subject knowledge, effective lesson planning techniques, and strategies to enhance student progress.
Our approach emphasizes interactive, collaborative learning that puts students at the center of their educational journey. You'll benefit from extensive resources that extend learning beyond traditional classroom settings.
Through partnerships with local schools and authorities, we address regional teacher shortages, with many graduates securing positions at our partner institutions. Some trainees receive job offers directly from their placement schools.
Educational authorities consistently rate our trainees highly. As noted in OFSTED's 2012 report, one school commented: "They arrive classroom-ready and well-equipped to handle teaching demands."
