For graduates passionate about education and shaping young minds, the PGCE in Primary Education offers an ideal pathway.

This program prepares you to teach children aged 5-11, covering both Key Stages One and Two. Upon completion, you'll earn a Postgraduate Certificate in Education from Durham University and qualify for QTS, with accreditation through Newcastle University and the Department for Education.

Our program combines academic research with practical classroom experience, laying the foundation for your teaching career. We integrate the Core Content Framework throughout the course to ensure you're fully prepared for the Early Career Framework that supports new teachers during their initial two years.

The curriculum focuses on core subjects - English, Mathematics, and Science - with subject specialists enhancing both your knowledge and teaching methods. Additionally, you'll explore primary Foundation Subjects like Art, Computing, and History, each taught by dedicated subject leaders.

Professional Studies sessions deepen your understanding of educational concepts and classroom techniques, helping you develop your teaching identity and professional growth.
