The UCL Research Department of Neuroscience, Physiology, and Pharmacology unites researchers conducting cutting-edge interdisciplinary studies in physiology and cellular communication across health and disease states. Our focus spans neural systems, from synaptic connections to behavioral circuits, along with investigating pharmaceutical impacts on these biological processes. Graduate students entering our Neuroscience, Physiology, and Pharmacology programs join an exceptional research training community. Our department combines expertise across pioneering interdisciplinary fields, including molecular structure and function, neural synaptic communication, brain circuitry governing behavior, pain and inflammatory responses, metabolic conditions, and pharmacological studies of membrane-bound neurotransmitter receptors, channels, and transporters.

Qualification Requirements

A minimum of an upper second-class Bachelor's degree from a UK university in a relevant discipline or an overseas qualification of an equivalent standard. The English language level for this programme is: Level 2

UCL Pre-Master's and Pre-sessional English courses are for international students who are aiming to study for a postgraduate degree at UCL. The courses will develop your academic English and academic skills required to succeed at postgraduate level. International English Language Testing System (IELTS) Academic Version - Overall score of 7.0 and a minimum of 6.5 in each component. Test of English as Foreign Language (TOEFL) - Overall score of 96 with 24/30 in reading and writing and 22/30 in speaking and listening.
