The UCL Research Department of Neuroscience, Physiology, and Pharmacology unites researchers conducting cutting-edge interdisciplinary studies in physiology and cellular communication across health and disease states. Our focus spans neural systems, from synaptic connections to behavioral circuits, along with investigating pharmaceutical impacts on these biological processes. Graduate students entering our Neuroscience, Physiology, and Pharmacology programs join an exceptional research training community. Our department combines expertise across pioneering interdisciplinary fields, including molecular structure and function, neural synaptic communication, brain circuitry governing behavior, pain and inflammatory responses, metabolic conditions, and pharmacological studies of membrane-bound neurotransmitter receptors, channels, and transporters.
