This adaptable degree program features three distinct pathways, allowing students to specialize in one or multiple ancient languages, including Ancient Greek, Latin, Sanskrit, Hittite, Akkadian, or Sumerian. Alongside language study, the curriculum enables broad exploration of the ancient world while delving deeply into areas like literature, philosophy, history, and archaeology. Centered on ancient languages and texts, the program examines the classical world across its full historical, geographic, and methodological scope. Participants will cultivate advanced analytical skills, articulating their perspectives through module essays and a capstone dissertation. Core modules establish foundational knowledge of antiquity and proficiency in at least one ancient language, with some incorporating research methodology. Elective offerings span language and literature studies, philosophy and science, historical inquiry, and diverse archaeological approaches.
