Classical studies programs examine every facet of ancient Greek and Roman civilizations, covering not only written works but also visual arts, building designs, philosophical thought, spiritual beliefs, and how later eras from the Renaissance onward interpreted these ancient cultures.
Since Classical Studies analyzes texts in modern translations, students can examine a broader selection of materials, resulting in an exceptionally comprehensive and thorough educational experience. Experts in Greek, Latin, and Ancient History collaborate to create a curriculum that integrates historical and literary analysis, spans both Greek and Roman societies, and connects artistic expression with intellectual traditions. While language study isn't required, students may choose introductory courses in ancient Greek or Latin and continue language studies if desired.
