A classical studies degree provides comprehensive and adaptable training that hones advanced abilities in analytical thinking, effective communication, and creative problem-solving. This program allows you to explore your passion for the languages, writings, and philosophies of ancient Greek and Roman civilizations while examining their wider cultural, societal, and historical influences across the Mediterranean region. Your third year will be spent at an international partner institution.
This four-year program offers the opportunity to delve deeply into the linguistic, literary, and philosophical traditions of classical antiquity while exploring their broader historical and cultural significance in the ancient world.
You'll examine diverse primary sources, both literary and historical, taught through innovative methods by faculty conducting cutting-edge research in their fields.
Alongside Ancient Greek, you'll learn a modern European language (currently Italian or German) and spend your third year abroad studying classical subjects in that language at one of our European partner universities.
