This program explores worldwide art history and visual culture spanning the eighteenth century to today, examining diverse creative works from modern art and photography to digital media and current artistic approaches.
You'll examine the intersection of creativity and cultural politics, investigating material and visual histories alongside art theory while participating in discussions about gender, sexuality, ecology, race, social class, political issues, and disability rights. The curriculum also provides comprehensive training in collection management, curation, and exhibition design.
Our outstanding specialized resources include the St Peters House Special Collection, the internationally recognized Teaching Collection and Design Archives, plus access to the Screen Archive South East. Strong partnerships with regional and national museums, galleries, and archives further enhance your learning experience.
