This program offers an in-depth exploration of Art History and Italian through research-focused study, enabling students to comprehend how knowledge evolves, progresses, and is revitalized. It fosters independent learning among all participants, cultivating qualities such as curiosity, integrity, precision, and academic rigor. Spanning 48 months, the curriculum culminates in a Master of Arts (Honours) degree. Like all St Andrews programs, it consists of credit-based modules, requiring students to complete 480 credits—typically 120 per academic year. The initial two years combine mandatory program-specific courses with elective options, sometimes including interdisciplinary Faculty selections. Subsequent years emphasize advanced, research-driven education through specialized program modules. The first two years blend core subjects with diverse electives (potentially from other Faculties), while later years focus on tailored, research-oriented coursework.
