The Forensic Psychology Practice Doctorate (CPD pathway) enables qualified Forensic Psychologists to upgrade their current MSc to a Doctoral qualification through Continuing Professional Development.
Our Center for Applied Psychology provides a Continuing Professional Development option for obtaining a Doctorate in Forensic Psychology.
This program is tailored for Forensic Psychologists with an active Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) certification (ideally also holding Chartered Psychologist status with the British Psychological Society) to elevate their existing MSc to Doctoral standing.
The course involves attending nine days of instructional sessions focused on enhancing advanced research capabilities. Participants will complete these key components: a research ethics proposal, systematic literature review, research project, and evaluation of a psychometric tool. These components must be integrated into a thesis that will undergo oral examination.
