The MSc by Research in Social Theory and Space offers a one-year (full-time) or two-year (part-time) personalized research program designed to advance both your academic and professional growth, guided by our Human Geography faculty.
Your research in social theory and spatial studies will evolve through engagement in academic activities like seminars and discussion groups, along with participation in one of our active Human Geography research teams.
Our current geographical research in this field encompasses: Structuralist and poststructuralist approaches to space
Psychoanalytic perspectives in geography, Political economy and cultural economic studies, Global city systems and urban networks
Geographies of conflict, Modern and postmodern urban studies, Theoretical approaches to cities
In the most recent UK Research Excellence Framework (REF 2014), 95% of Swansea's Geography research achieved international recognition, with 60% ranked as world-class or internationally outstanding.
