Wales serves as a specialized research field available within our Politics and International Relations graduate programs (MPhil, PhD). Our School boasts a vibrant research environment, recognized for its high-caliber academic output and increasing success in securing research funding. The Politics and Law department houses the Wales Governance Center and maintains strong ties with the Welsh Parliament. We provide expert guidance across diverse research themes, encompassing British governance, Comparative political systems, Constitutional studies, Decentralization processes, Election systems, European integration, Public administration, Identity-based political movements, Political party dynamics, Policy development, Regional governance, and Welsh political affairs.

Qualification Requirements
Applicants should have a good Honours degree in Politics or International Relations (2:1 or equivalent) or overseas equivalent in a relevant subject.
We will consider all individual applicants on their specific merits. If you do not have the standard qualifications for the course, you may still apply. Your application will be considered if you have the following,
Masters degree in Politics or International Relations (or equivalent) with an average mark of at least 65%.
Applicants with appropriate professional experience.
Interviews (via Skype/Phone or in person) may be conducted to identify and assess the academic merit of prospective students.
Those whose first language is not English must obtain a score of at least 7.0 in IELTS (with no less than 6.5 in the Writing element and no less than 5.5 in Listening, Speaking and Reading).
