The Department of Politics and International Relations provides globally-recognized expertise and graduate-level supervision across diverse areas of our field. As a mid-sized PIR department with 18 faculty members, we examine critical political challenges at multiple levels - from local to global. Our research frequently incorporates interdisciplinary approaches from across the social sciences, focusing on four primary themes: Democratic Systems and Governance, Peace and Security Studies, Cross-National Political Analysis, and Theoretical Foundations of Politics and International Relations.
