The Education department aims to lead as London's most forward-thinking institution. Rooted in some of the longest-standing teacher training colleges within the Commonwealth – all with progressive legacies – we deliver research-driven programs for educators, youth workers, community professionals, and scholars focused on Education studies. Our research receives funding from prestigious bodies including the UK Economic and Social Research Council, Arts and Humanities Research Council, British Academy, Higher Education Academy, and numerous charitable organizations. We prioritize both local and global engagement, with our research impact mirroring this vision. During the 2014 REF assessment, 60% of our department's research achieved world-leading or internationally excellent status, while 90% of our impact was rated as internationally outstanding. Faculty expertise spans Pedagogy and Professional Education; STEM Education; Social Justice, Special Educational Needs, and Inclusive Education.
