If you're prepared to advance your education expertise through postgraduate research, Portsmouth offers an ideal environment to realize your ambitions. As a research student, you could examine how education is perceived, implemented, and experienced across diverse global communities, or study education's role in fostering fairness, equality, and societal readiness for children. Our faculty brings years of specialized knowledge in educational leadership, conflict-zone education, gender studies, citizenship education, special needs, childhood mental health, teacher education, and youth transitions. We maintain robust collaborations with the Centre for Studies in Literature (CSL), Centre for European and International Studies Research (CEISR), and the School of Criminology and Criminal Justice (SCCJ). Additionally, we partner with local charities, Portsmouth City Council, and about 100 regional schools and early childhood programs. Our postgraduate research offerings undergo stringent external evaluations by Ofsted and the Quality Assurance Agency (QAA), with our School of Education and Sociology receiving an outstanding rating in the latest Ofsted inspection.
