This program - among only a few in UK higher education to combine social anthropology modules with a primary focus on biological anthropology - establishes a solid basis for comprehending societal structures. Anthropology examines humanity: our shared traits as a species, and the biological and cultural variations among individuals and groups across different regions and historical periods. Through in-depth exploration of humanity's dual biological/social characteristics across time - develop insights into human biological and cultural differences. Engage in practical laboratory sessions and fieldwork, all taught by distinguished scholars. Core study areas include anthropological theory, ethnographic research, cultural ecology, human-environment relationships, evolutionary biology, and the examination of artifacts and technological development. Choose specialized modules from both biological and social anthropology as well as related fields, tailoring your education to personal interests, academic passions, and professional goals. Participate in either a five-week or extended 30-week internship to practice acquired skills while expanding your professional network and strengthening your resume, boosting future employment opportunities. Within 15 months after graduation, 80% of our alumni secure employment or continue their education.
