This program integrates the knowledge of our faculty and research from two interconnected fields to enhance your understanding and abilities in both Human Geography and Anthropology. Human Geography examines the intricate connections between communities and their environments, addressing critical global issues. Anthropology provides profound insights into cultural and social diversity, uncovering fascinating perspectives on how people and societies experience the world differently. Your first year covers foundational concepts in both disciplines, followed by flexible module options in years two and three, split equally between subjects. Human Geography modules emphasize urban studies, postcolonialism and migration, plus environmental politics. Anthropology explores themes like youth development, conflict studies, and public health. Both fields feature immersive fieldwork, building valuable professional skills. First-year students participate in a geography field trip, with optional second-year excursions.
Career Prospects
A Brunel degree in Human Geography and Anthropology opens doors to diverse career paths. You'll gain expertise addressing contemporary global issues while developing sought-after skills that distinguish you from peers.
Fieldwork especially cultivates practical abilities in real-world contexts.
