The Doctor of Philosophy degree is granted to individuals who have thoroughly examined and assessed an authorized subject, thereby creating a unique and autonomous addition to existing knowledge. Their work must include a substantial research, creative, or analytical element that merits publication, either in whole or in part. Additionally, candidates must exhibit proficiency in research methodologies relevant to their chosen discipline. Typically, the resulting thesis ranges from 40,000 to 80,000 words, varying by field and research focus. Our expertise covers diverse areas within dance, music, and performing arts. We emphasize interdisciplinary practice aligned with contemporary theoretical frameworks in our research approach. With a faculty of distinguished scholars and professionals, the Bath School of Music and Performing Arts provides expert supervision for a broad spectrum of research inquiries in these fields.
