Our research programs:
We support an exceptionally diverse range of research approaches, including textual analysis, archival work, historical studies, practice-based research, empirical investigations, and philosophical inquiry. Projects span English and Welsh languages, encompassing theater, performance studies, scenography, media studies, and film/television research.
The Department provides both full-time and part-time MPhil/PhD options. We offer bilingual supervision (English/Welsh) with expertise in areas like: performance aesthetics, political theater, ecological performance, Welsh-language media, contemporary British/Irish theater, documentary forms, performance philosophy, media history, transnational production, television genres, script development, fan studies, documentary film, horror/fantasy cinema, screen performance, digital media, British/Russian cinema and theater.
