Housed within the School of Language, Literature, Music and Visual Culture, our Film and Visual Culture program takes an innovative approach to exploring this dynamic field. We equip students to thoughtfully engage with visual culture as both analytical researchers and imaginative creators.
Rooted in the academic heritage of our 1495-founded institution, the program connects students with leading scholars in a stimulating learning environment featuring state-of-the-art resources. Advanced students may pursue practice-based research through our MLitt and PhD programs, taking advantage of our Media Lab's professional-grade HD production and editing equipment.
The program contributes significantly to the George Washington Wilson Centre for Visual Culture (GWW), a collaborative space uniting visual culture researchers university-wide. The GWW serves as a dynamic center for postgraduate research, creating exceptional opportunities for cross-disciplinary exploration.
