The Bachelor of Social Sciences (BSocSc) pushes you to reconsider your perspectives on global societies and their inhabitants. This program delves into modern societal challenges, examining human responses and how these behaviors can be assessed and adjusted. As a BSocSc student, you'll investigate the motivations and factors shaping human behavior and societal patterns. You'll cultivate essential analytical abilities, research expertise, and competencies in data collection, interpretation, reporting, and evidence-based decision-making, guided by our internationally acclaimed faculty.

The entire three-year BSocSc program can be undertaken in Tauranga, with major options including Political Science, Psychology, Social Policy, and Sociology.

Qualification Requirements

International Baccalaureate (taken in NZ or overseas) Completed International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma with a minimum of 24 points. GCE Advanced levels (outside UK) Applicants must achieve a minimum of 6 points taken from three subjects, achieving a minimum grade of C in at least one subject. Points calculated as follows: A = 5, B = 4, C = 3, D = 2, E = 1. AS Level grades are not included. This is a one-year advanced programme for high-achieving students, which continues your studies in a major subject after completing a three-year bachelor's degree. The honours programme may be taken on its own, or included as part of a four-year bachelor's degree. Entry requirements A qualification considered equivalent to a New Zealand bachelors degree with a B average, in a major in a relevant area.
