Grasping how society functions across individual, family, community, and governmental levels is essential for those seeking to engage with or shape decision-making processes that affect our communities.

Gain a thorough comprehension of how social forces, economics, and politics interact. Examine power structures, factors affecting policy choices, population and behavioral patterns, as well as issues stemming from economic, political, and social inequalities.

You'll also hone critical thinking and analytical abilities vital for public sector roles, social services, and community groups—fields where many of our alumni launch rewarding professional journeys.

Through AUT's Bachelor of Arts program, you can specialize in diverse fields ranging from language studies and global affairs to criminal justice, psychology, event coordination, and teaching. Craft a degree tailored to your passions with the Bachelor of Arts. Deepen your awareness of global systems and your place within them while discovering ways to create meaningful change.

While investigating subjects that address societal challenges, you'll develop expertise in problem-solving, analytical reasoning, communication, research, and critical inquiry. The competencies you acquire, coupled with practical work experience during your final term, will equip you for impactful careers both in Aotearoa New Zealand and internationally.
