These three integrated programs offer students adaptable choices for full-time education, enabling them to complete the courses over several years or consecutively within one year. Learners can enroll in the Post-Graduate Certificate during the Autumn semester through in-person, online, or hybrid formats. After completing the Autumn semester, they may choose to graduate with the Certificate or proceed with on-campus studies in the spring semester to earn the Postgraduate Diploma. For those seeking further advancement, continuing into the summer semester leads to the higher qualification of a Master of Arts in Irish Music Studies.
These programs leverage the Academy's extensive interdisciplinary knowledge, examining and broadening concepts of Irish music from both historical and modern viewpoints. The Irish World Academy of Music and Dance has emerged as a premier institution for studying Irish traditional music, which influences portions of this Master's curriculum. However, this genre is just one of several Irish musical traditions available for exploration in the program. Participants also have the opportunity to contribute to academic discussions through their own performance or compositional work, where applicable and if they wish.
