This program is tailored for registered general nurses seeking to specialize in oncology nursing.
Participants must complete clinical practice in an approved Irish healthcare facility, typically at their current workplace. Additional placements may be necessary to fulfill the program's educational requirements. All candidates enroll in a full-time, one-year Postgraduate Diploma. Upon successfully completing both theoretical and clinical components, graduates receive a Postgraduate Diploma, with those achieving at least a 60% average eligible to apply for the second year of the MSc program.
The program utilizes a blended learning model, combining 12 days of in-person workshops with online instruction. A minimum of 500 clinical hours (reduced from the previously required 1,000 hours per NMBI guidance) must be completed before graduation.
