The Master's/Postgraduate Diploma in Health Sciences (Children's Palliative/Complex Care) is jointly delivered by faculty members from University of Galway and UCD. This program is tailored for Registered Nurses who care for children and teenagers with complex or life-threatening conditions. Its objective is to equip students with comprehensive, evidence-based expertise and practical abilities to deliver excellent care to critically ill children experiencing life-limiting diseases and potential end-of-life situations.
Participants initially enroll in the full-time one-year Postgraduate Diploma. After successfully completing both academic and clinical components, graduates receive a Postgraduate Diploma, or (if they maintain at least a 60% average grade) they can opt to progress to the second year of the MSc program.

Alumni have secured positions and advanced their careers both nationally and internationally in specialized nursing roles (including neonatology, palliative care, pediatric palliative or complex care), specialized home healthcare services, disability coordination, and children's hospice settings.
