The Master of Arts in Gender, Globalisation and Rights serves as a premier program offered by the Centre for Global Women's Studies at University of Galway. This interdisciplinary course provides comprehensive exploration of gender aspects within global challenges, integrating studies across women's and gender studies, international development, human rights, and peace and conflict resolution. Participants gain theoretical frameworks, analytical skills, and practical approaches to implement gender-sensitive analyses across various professional fields at local, national, and global scales, as well as for pursuing doctoral research. The curriculum covers topics including globalization, development studies, human rights frameworks, feminist theories, health and sexuality studies, women in agricultural systems, historical contexts, and conflict resolution, alongside practical training in research methodologies, applied gender analysis, and empowerment strategies. Participants may also complete a two-month professional placement with organizations aligned with the program's thematic focus.
