The MA in Women's Studies program is delivered through the College of Arts, Celtic Studies & Social Sciences (CACSSS) at University College Cork (UCC).
This postgraduate degree has been available at UCC for more than two decades, welcoming Irish students, international participants, and mature learners alike. The Women's Studies MA provides diverse opportunities for cross-disciplinary learning and engagement with community groups focused on women's and gender-related matters.
Our curriculum explores multiple topics such as historical and cultural depictions of women, gender identity and sexual orientation, female political participation, work-life balance, and gender-based violence.
Students receive methodological training and theoretical foundations to support their independent research projects during the dissertation phase of the program.
To apply for this course, you will have a Second Class Honours Grade II in a primary honours degree (NFQ, Level 8) or the equivalent
If you have relevant experience in the areas of community work, industry, or professions, you can also apply.
