The two-year Master of Fine Arts (MFA) offers an intensive training program for artists focused on ecological practices, while the one-year MA delivers graduate-level art education suitable for various professional paths.
Both programs culminate in a final exhibition showcasing individual and group projects, highlighting essential skills for artistic success. Participants will develop critical thinking abilities through fine art, enabling them to assess their work within the broader context of contemporary art theory and ecological discussions. MFA candidates additionally design and execute an interdisciplinary collaborative project addressing environmental challenges, either locally in the Burren or internationally.
Studio work fosters artistic growth alongside MFA/MA Studio Art peers, with dedicated modules supporting creative exploration and the creation of a significant portfolio. The Theory and Art and Ecology component explores historical and modern perspectives influencing ecological art practices. First-year students gain foundational ecosystem knowledge through lectures and Burren fieldwork, expanded in later studies examining regional conservation as a model for global ecological concerns. Professional Studies courses, shared with Studio Art students, equip participants with vital career-building skills.

Career Paths
Alumni pursue opportunities in art-related sectors including curation, gallery management, and arts education. The program cultivates adaptable knowledge and competencies applicable to diverse professional settings, tailored to each graduate's aspirations.
