This program provides training to the highest global standards in veterinary medicine, with accreditation from the Veterinary Council of Ireland (VCI), the European Association of Establishments for Veterinary Education (EAEVE), and recognition as one of just six European veterinary schools accredited by the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA). Veterinary medicine focuses on enhancing animal health and welfare for species vital to our communities. This includes caring for both healthy and ill animals, preventing, diagnosing, managing, and treating their ailments, addressing zoonotic diseases, and ensuring livestock welfare and productivity.

Veterinary studies may require working with animal-derived materials in certain classes. All animal tissues used are obtained ethically, following strict guidelines from the university's ethics review board. Prospective students with absolute objections to using animal materials in instruction should reconsider enrolling in this veterinary program.
