The Postgraduate Diploma in Pharmaceutical and Biopharmaceutical Engineering offers both full-time (9 months) and part-time study options, with the latter spanning at least 18 months across two academic years (extendable up to 45 months over five years) from initial enrollment. This program enables participants to earn a recognized certification in key bio/pharmaceutical industry topics, enhancing skills for these vital sectors. Course content covers critical areas like product containment, powder/particle technology, API and secondary production facility design, current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP), classified facility planning, aseptic processing facility layout, utilities/services, along with data analysis and process validation techniques.
Candidates must have achieved a Pass in a primary honours degree (NFQ, Level 8) in engineering or equivalent.
Or a Pass in a primary honours degree (NFQ, Level 8) or equivalent, ideally with some relevant industrial experience.
In all cases, the course of study for each candidate must be approved by the course coordinator.
