The MRes in Industrial Pharmaceutics offers a distinctive research-focused curriculum designed to cultivate essential skills for careers in Ireland's pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical manufacturing sectors. This program enhances expertise in experimental design, data interpretation, process optimization, analytical method development, alongside transferable abilities like scientific communication and technical documentation.
As Ireland's inaugural research-driven, industry-oriented MRes program of its type, it specifically addresses the pharmaceutical sector's growing demand for specialized professionals skilled in analytical and process development, both domestically and internationally.
This 12-month full-time (or 24-month part-time) research initiative operates through the School of Pharmacy and/or industry partnerships. It begins with a comprehensive research orientation to establish fundamental pharmaceutical/biopharmaceutical process and analytical development competencies.
Participants complete coursework totaling 90 credits during the full-time duration (or equivalent for part-time students), with the core component being a substantial 20,000-word research thesis. Additionally, students must successfully complete 20 credits worth of taught modules throughout the program.
