Since first launching these programs in 1996, TUS has consistently delivered biotechnology graduates at NFQ levels 7 and 8 who are highly sought after by employers. The MSc/PgD in Biopharmaceutical Technology leverages TUS's established expertise and strong industry connections cultivated over decades. This program was specifically designed to meet the growing demand for skilled professionals in Ireland's thriving biopharmaceutical industry. Alongside classroom instruction and lab work at TUS, plus tours of nearby biopharmaceutical facilities, MSc/PgD students will undergo hands-on training at Dublin's National Institute for Bioprocessing Research & Training (NIBRT).

NIBRT features a fully operational replica bioprocessing plant, complete with state-of-the-art manufacturing equipment found in modern facilities (including upstream, downstream, fill finish, and bioanalytical systems). Through NIBRT placements, students acquire practical experience with biopharmaceutical production processes.

The MSc in Biopharmaceutical Technology is offered at TUS's Athlone campus from September through August. The curriculum combines theoretical and practical coursework at TUS with specialized training at NIBRT, visits to biopharmaceutical production sites, and presentations from leading professionals in the field.
