Our Mental Health Nursing program offers outstanding opportunities to build expertise in Psychiatric Nursing, fostering independent thought, critical analysis, and solution-focused approaches. You'll learn to provide cutting-edge patient care grounded in the latest evidence-based practices.
This intensive four-year degree, delivered in collaboration with the Health Service Executive (South), prepares graduates to register with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) as Psychiatric Nurses. Upon registration, you'll be qualified to practice in diverse clinical environments as a mental health professional.
The program's comprehensive curriculum supports your growth across personal, intellectual, and professional domains to fulfill all aspects of a Mental Health Nurse's role. Each academic year combines theoretical study with supervised clinical placements, requiring 35-hour weekly commitments in hospitals, community settings, and healthcare facilities.
Coursework spans nursing theory alongside biological and social sciences, featuring both interdisciplinary modules (shared with other nursing specialties) and specialized content exclusive to Mental Health Nursing students.
