The BSc (Hons) in Applied Health Care is a four-year, full-time honors program available through the Health Sciences Common Entry pathway. This degree equips students to become reflective, self-aware professionals who can confidently apply evidence-based knowledge and skills across diverse healthcare settings. The curriculum covers essential topics such as mental health recovery, health promotion, legal and ethical considerations, disability studies, and palliative care. As part of their studies, participants undertake a professional work placement to bridge theory and practice. Before placements begin, students must complete necessary requirements including Garda Vetting/Police Clearance, mandatory CPR and Manual Handling training, and Occupational Health clearance - all arranged by SETU Waterford staff.
You should be at least 17 years of age in January of the year of entry.
You must have a Secondary/High School Diploma, with good grades in English and Mathematics and at least 4 other subjects, on average + 60%.
