Ireland's participation in the European Union, along with the effects of globalization, has increased the necessity for legal professionals to comprehend diverse legal frameworks and cultural contexts. A fundamental worldwide difference exists between common law jurisdictions like Ireland, England, and the United States, and civil law systems prevalent in France, much of Europe, and other regions.
The Law and French program addresses these requirements by equipping graduates with foundational knowledge of Irish Law, proficiency in another European language, and understanding of France's cultural, political, economic, and social structures.
Applicants must have completed a high school qualification equivalent to the Irish Leaving Certificate. General matriculation requirements include pass grades in English, mathematics and a language other than English. Additional requirements may apply for some courses.
