The BCL (Law and French) program offers a combined honors degree where you can simultaneously study law and French. This prepares you for a legal career with specialized language proficiency.

Throughout four years, you'll complete coursework in both legal studies and French language, earning dual qualifications. This opens doors to legal professions or alternative paths in linguistics, translation, or education.

Many alumni leverage this dual expertise to become multilingual legal professionals, frequently securing positions with international organizations, EU entities, or foreign law firms.

A key feature is the third-year study abroad opportunity at renowned institutions in France (including Paris X, Lyon III, Strasbourg, Montpellier, or Rennes) or Canada (Université de Montréal).

While sharing core legal modules with UCC's other law programs (BCL, BCL International, BCL Clinical, and BCL Irish), you'll receive specialized French language instruction from the French Department and unique French law courses within the Law Department.
