Selecting the law specialization in DCU's Bachelor of Arts program enables students to investigate fundamental legal principles while pursuing a complementary subject. This interdisciplinary approach offers comprehensive legal education across essential domains, alongside options like History, International Languages, or Media Studies. The curriculum includes all 8 core modules required for Law Society entrance examinations for aspiring solicitors: constitutional law, contract law, criminal law, property law, equity and trusts, European Union law, tort law, and company law. Students may elect to spend a year overseas, extending their program to four years and earning a Bachelor of Arts (Joint Honours) International degree. Internship Opportunity During the third year, students can apply for a competitive INTRA work placement, gaining valuable professional experience to strengthen their resume and career prospects while applying academic knowledge in practical settings (placement availability dependent). This program equips graduates for diverse career paths and serves as a stepping stone to advanced studies.
