Genetic research spans diverse areas including cellular death regulation in cancer and immune responses, vision genetics, genomic and protein adaptation, neural connectivity, plant genetic modification, oncogene expression, Irish population genetics, and microbial genetics. Investigative teams operate from The Smurfit Institute, a contemporary facility designed to provide exceptional research infrastructure. Findings from the Smurfit Institute of Genetics frequently appear in renowned international publications, with multiple research groups recognized as field leaders. The Genetics Department currently includes 15 faculty members, 45 graduate researchers, and 35 post-doctoral scientists. healthcare quality measures, medication policy and implementation, community health initiatives, institutional pharmacy services and medication management in healthcare facilities.

Qualification Requirements

Postgraduate work in Trinity College Dublin is very academically challenging and as a result the University has high academic entry requirements. Applicants will need to hold at least a 2.1 honors degree from an Irish university or equivalent result from a university in another country; a fluent command of the English language. Display a high level of competence in the English language in one of the examination systems recognised by Trinity College Dublin.
