Faith holds substantial influence across various cultural, social, and political spheres. Spiritual perspectives, principles, and imagery profoundly impact the formation of societal customs, rituals, and behaviors. This dynamic persists both in environments with multiple faith traditions and those primarily influenced by specific religious systems. The imprint of belief systems manifests not just in cultural artifacts preserving heritage (including structures, artworks, ancient texts, and writings), but also in modern discussions concerning society's changing identities in our religiously diverse world.
Participants in this program will examine current discussions surrounding topics like political theology's essence and effects, spirituality's relationship with modern society, faith-based gender perspectives, the connection between belief systems and conflict, religious views on fundamental freedoms, and moral frameworks in governance.
Applicants must have completed a high school qualification equivalent to the Irish Leaving Certificate. General matriculation requirements include pass grades in English, mathematics and a language other than English. Additional requirements may apply for some courses.
